Kyabje Garchen Rinpoche - founder and spiritual director of the center

Center of Tibetan Buddhism “Drikung Kagyu Ratna Shri” was founded in 2009 in Moscow with the blessings of Kyabje Garchen Rinpoche and of the head of Drikung Kagyu school H.H. Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang, who has granted the name to the center. The spiritual head of the “Drikung Kagyu Ratna Shri Moscow” center - Kyabje Garchen Rinpoche has visited Moscow several times since 2003 and repeatedly expressed his desire to establish the buddhist center for the sake of all people in Russia to give them an opportunity to study and practice the Buddha’s teachings by the listening, pondering and meditation and meet the masters of the Drikung Kagyu tradition. As part of the center’s activities are held weekly public meditation, invited teachers, Buddhist texts translated and published according to the instructions of Garchen Rinpoche and Drupon Tsering Rinpoche - his representative in the European centers. You can take part in every center’s practice. CENTER’S MEDITATIONS

The 37 Practices of Bodhisattvas. According to the instructions of Kyabje Garchen Rinpoche the main center’s practice is to study, contemplate and discuss the text named “The 37 Practices of Bodhisattvas”. Containing all the essence of the Buddha’s teachings it helps to rise love and compassion. Garchen Rinpoche constantly emphasizes the importance and the deep meaning of the teachings contained in the 37 Practices of Bodhisattvas saying that this precious text is his substitute. That’s why Garchen Rinpoche always inspires his students for publishing and free distribution of this text.The discussion of the 37 Practices are held in the form of live communication and everybody can express his opinion or ask questions.

Drikung Kagyu Ngondro. Preliminary practices which purify one’s body, speech and mind and lay the ground for the practice of mahamudra.

White Tara. The most important center’s meditation is a practice of White Tara - female aspect of compassion, the protectress who delivers from any fears, grants longevity and fulfills the wishes. This special practice was received directly from White Tara and composed by Kyabje Garchen Rinpoche in his previous incarnation.

Achi Chokyi Drolma. The practice of the protectress Achi Chokyi Drolma is regularly done in the center. Chokyi Drolma is the manifestation of Tara and is the main protectress of the Drikung Kagyu lineage. She was embodied as a great grandmother of Jigten Sumgon and promised to protect all the practitioners of the lineage.

Guru Yoga practice. Guru Yoga is a effective method to unify teacher’s and student’s minds, to gain the blessing of unbroken lineage of the teaching’s transmission and of the enlightened qualities of the Lama. In the center guru yoga meditation of Jigten Sumgon, the founder of the lineage and guru yoga of Milarepa, the great Tibetan saint of the Kagyu lineage are done.

Garchen Rinpoche recommended to accompany the center’s practices with an auspicious prayers which help to recognize one’s nature of the mind and to spread the virtue in the country and in the whole world. The Aspiration of Samantabhadra prayer is read which contains a deep meaning of the dzogchen teachings and a great blessing, it is especially useful during natural disasters. As long as the prayer to be reborn in a Pure Land of Dewachen (Sukhavati) which is useful for those who passed away and contributing a better rebirth. 

Everyone is welcome to attend all the center practices.

Searching the premises for the center

For today the center does not have own premises. Having the permanent place will ensure the development of the center, will let to have continuous practices for the benefit of everybody, and will give an opportunity to invite a resident Lama.

Garchen Rinpoche stresses the importance to develop buddhist centers where people can receive teachings about cause and effect and thus get rid of suffering and gain causes for happiness in this and future lives. 

All the activity and projects of the Drikung Kagyu Ratna Shri center are carried out only by personal offerings of the members and by the support of the sponsors. We are open for the cooperating and we look forward for any participation.
